Last year, Peace Corps Kenya witnessed record breaking participation in World Malaria Day activities. More than 75% of volunteers hosted events! We know we have some big shoes to fill and look forward to building on the success of 2013 to make our 2014 impact on the eradication of malaria bigger and better.
In preparation, the current malaria coordinators have conducted trainings with our newest cohorts of volunteers across all sectors on malaria epidemiology, transmission and prevention as well as how to implement malaria-focused projects in their communities. We are preparing to submit proposals for projects including murals, photo projects, and health market days.
Last year we celebrated World Malaria Day on April 20. This year, we will be celebrating World Malaria Month!
We look forward to sharing what we will accomplish in 2014. Check out our photos from World Malaria Day 2013.
