Stomping Out Malaria in Africa is pleased to announce our 2015 Malaria Month Competition winners. 12 countries participated in our Malaria Month Competition covering¬†an impressive swath of sub-Saharan Africa.
By the numbers:
Based on final reports submitted by each Peace Corps post, from March 23-May 15, over 636 Peace Corps Volunteers lead 1,854 activities in 12 countries reaching over 104,841 people directly.
Compare to 2014:
In April 2014 over 322 Peace Corps Volunteers lead 697 activities in 16 countries reaching 34,537 people directly.
The objective of the contest was to share the incredible work Peace Corps is doing to combat malaria with the global malaria community and to continue to remind ourselves through the calculation of our total impact why malaria prevention work continues to be one of the most important things we can do to saves lives in Africa.
